The Asian Development Bank has approved a US$63.44 million financing package for a 250 MW / 500 MWh utility-scale battery storage project at Cambodia's Takeo substation, south of Phnom Penh. The project is designed to strengthen grid stability, support renewable-energy integration and build local regulatory and technical capacity.
Editor's Lens
Grid-scale storage is becoming a central test of whether Southeast Asia can add solar and wind capacity without sacrificing reliability.
Singapore-based DayOne has secured RM15 billion (about US$3.67 billion) in additional financing from a seven-bank consortium including DBS and Standard Chartered. The funding will expand hyperscale data-centre capacity in Johor, now one of Southeast Asia's fastest-growing data-centre hubs.
Editor's Lens
Capital, power availability and regulation are now the decisive constraints on Southeast Asia's AI infrastructure race.
